Hollie Carr

Hollie Carr began studying the piano at age five at Benedictine College in Atchison Kansas. At age nine she was selected to performed her first of many composition at a local music venue. Music became an important aspect of Ms. Carr's life as she continued piano and also picked up trumpet upon beginning middle school. In 1993 and 1994 she was awarded top scores at the "state" band level and also tied for first place in the Melissa Etheridge songwriting/performance scholarship. After attended Washburn University, where Hollie studied jazz and music education, and taught group piano and trumpet, she transferred to Brigham Young University on a music performance scholarship. Upon finishing her degree in Music, she began teaching piano lessons at her home studio and has continued teaching in many cities including London, Santiago, Salt Lake City and Spring Texas. Teaching music is her life passion. She has always been a favorite of the children as she served in many churches and accompanied choirs at local middle schools. Ms. Carr is currently working on her Texas teaching certificate and hopes to continue to teach piano and trumpet as well as acquire a public music teaching job in 2012.
